Portrait feedback

Discussion for 3/22/10

Respond to the following in 12-15 sentences: Which of the three portrait essays that you read in class on Friday was the strongest? Why? What techniques did the writer employ to help you know the subject of his or her porrtait. You must mention the author's name and include specific text. You must also respond to something specific that at least one of your classmates has posted---unless, of course, you are the first to post. See you Monday!

Not sure why there arent any other people that have commented on this but my favorite portrait is "Going to the Movies." Tone must go very well with what is being written. Susan allen toth writes about Sunday afternoons in part IV. She repeatedly starts sentences with I this I that. The thing that truly attracts me is the feeling of emotion the author is providing. This girl has a plan. She knows what she wants and I respect that. She only goes to plays that end happily and this shows good direction. She flashes back as well. These make me reflect on my life. I feel at home while reading this.
